With leaves twirling gently to the ground, families gathering around football games, and pumpkin patches bursting with color, fall is breezing in as a welcome respite from the humid days of summer.
From sporting events to holidays, to the invigorating autumn air, fall brings so much to celebrate. As loved ones gather to reconnect, you’ll want to make your home a haven. Here are 5 easy decorations to make your sunroom or living space cozy for fall.
Orange & Clove Centerpiece
Gather 16 oranges and a jar of whole cloves. On a round plate or cake plate, arrange 7 oranges, with sides touching, in the center of the plate. Top with a second layer of 5 oranges, then a layer of 3, followed by 1, to form a tower of oranges. Press whole cloves into the oranges in a decorative pattern for a sunroom centerpiece with a striking aromatic appeal. For added beauty, tuck fall-colored silk or fresh flowers into the spaces between the oranges.
Pumpkin Topiary
Naturally Scented Candles
Place a rubber band around the middle of a wide unscented pillar candle. Tuck cinnamon sticks into the rubber band around the perimeter of the candle, until the candle is completely wrapped with cinnamon sticks. Tie a piece of twine or burlap around the rubber band to conceal it and secure the cinnamon. Light several of these candles in your sunroom for an irresistible ambiance.
Cozy Faux Fur
Is there anything cozier than cuddling up in faux fur? Whether it’s a fluffy fur throw, a nap-inducing fur pillow, or a fur rug to warm your toes, this trend for fall is as chic as it is soothing. Gray is trending for fall and is stylish year-round, so grab a fur accent piece to enhance your sunroom. With cozy surroundings, you can open those windows and enjoy the crisp fall air.
Festive Firewood
Bundle a stack of firewood and tie with a fall ribbon or a pretty swath of burlap. Drop several droplets of essential oil onto the logs in scents like cinnamon or pine. Place in a corner of your sunroom for rustic charm, and add oil droplets as needed. For unique interest, consider white birch logs or tuck a sprig of pine into the ribbon.
With just a few minutes and simple supplies, you can welcome fall into your sunroom. From spiced scents to soft throws, to soothing centerpieces, you can enchant all of your senses while making memories with the ones you love.
