Sunroom Decor Ideas For Summer

Sunrooms let light into your home and into your life. There are many ways to make your sunroom unique to you all year round. Summer is a time of warmth and growth, why not for your home too?

Nature brought inside

The biggest and most obvious way to decorate your sunroom in the summer is to add flowers. You can also add plants, vines, and water features. The Four-Seasons official Pinterest page has many summer ideas, especially nature related ones. It’s an easy and common way to bring life and color to a sun-bathed space.

Artwork in your home

If plants or flowers aren’t your thing, or you can’t seem to keep them alive, you can go for artwork. A sunroom is a perfect space for art in 3D forms. I don’t mean sculptures though. If Sculptures are your thing, then go for it! I’m talking about less expensive and smaller 3D art though. Like pillows, blankets, and other moveable decorations. The best part about things like this is that you can switch them out with the season as they aren’t permanent.

Rugs and floors

If fluffy decorations aren’t your thing either, you can use rugs. Sunrooms often have wood, tiled or otherwise non-carpet floors because they are much like a porch. Often rooms in the house that open to the outside have non-carpet floors so that they are easier to clean. Summertime rugs can be so bright and colorful, with muted greens and blues (like plants) or any color you want them to be. Rugs are easily changed out and have many different textures to play with. If your sunroom is likely to get hot, so is the floor. A good rug will protect bare feet from the heat.

Playing with Color

Summer sunroom decorations don’t need to be specific items though. Four-Season porches often have similar furniture year-round because of the usability. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money for just one season, you can color code things to your taste. There are designs that use one color and designs that use a color palette.

Floral Arrangements

For those of you who can keep flowers alive and/or love having flowers in the home, you don’t have to have potted plants. It can be costly to constantly replace floral bouquets year-round, but having one or two per season is certainly do-able. The best part about arrangements is you can add stones or shells to the vase, fruits to the water, or even use fake flowers. Real flowers smell good though and you can personalize what types of flowers you have. The freshest ones are the ones in season.

Look out your window

One of the most commonly overlooked ways to improve your sunroom is to decorate outside of it. If you have space and means to plant right outside the sunroom window, go for it! Or you can put a bench in with designs on it, statues (like this cute little frog) or a small water feature in your back (or front) yard. Why not sit back in your warm sunroom and watch the world go by right in front of you?
